Mike Romano serves as the Chief Executive Officer of NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association. Mike has more than three decades of experience working in the telecom and broadband industries, including nearly 16 years devoted to spearheading NTCA’s advocacy in Washington on behalf of hundreds of community-based rural network operators. During his tenure at NTCA, Mike has led the charge in advancing and sustaining the mission of universal service in the halls of Congress, at the FCC, and in the federal courts, while also ensuring that small rural providers have an effective and credible voice in a wide range of broadband policy debates and working to enhance innovation in rural connectivity.

Prior to joining NTCA, Mike served as the founding vice president and general counsel of GTT Communications, held a variety of positions with AOL and Level 3, and practiced in the telecom, media, and technology group of a Washington DC law firm.
