Eric Kreckel has been in the role of Chief Technology Officer for SLICFiber since 2023. With over 35 years of experience in networking and nearly 30 years in the service provider space, Eric was previously in the role of Network Architect and then CTO of the Westelcom Family of Companies and Chazy and Westport Telephone prior to the acquisition of Westelcom by SLICFiber in 2023. Over the course of his career, Eric has specialized in creating high-performance multi-service networks that are fault tolerant, scalable, and able to evolve and advance with changes in technology.

At SLICFiber, Eric has orchestrated the integration of the two legacy networks plus a third with the acquisition of Crown Point Telephone and Bridgepoint Communications in 2025. Besides these projects, he has been managing aggressive growth with sixteen new CO’s and tens of thousands of serviceable addresses being added in the past three years. Outside of work,

Eric is a three-time Ironman finisher and a ski patroller. He earned the credential of Certified Patroller #709 – the highest credential in the National Ski Patrol – in 2010 and is active in the training of new and experienced patrollers in first aid, ski skills, and toboggan handling.
